Mold Assessment Group, LLC, is a comprehensive mold inspection, testing, and consulting company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by Mr. Ron Yountz in 2005, Mold Assessment Group is certified at the highest (Professional) level by NAMP, the National Association of Mold Professionals, the leading and most recognized of all mold certification and training associations, by ESA, the Environmental Solutions Association and the Indoor Air Quality Association.
Mr. Yountz has over 24 years environmental and Indoor Air Quality experience. Mr. Yountz credentials and certifications include:
- Certified Mold Inspector (CMI)
- Certified Mold Remediator (CMR)
- Certified Indoor Environmental Professional (CIEP)
- Industrial Hygienist (IH)
- Certified by OSHA and the EPA in environmental and safety training.
Mr. Yountz earned his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has completed many post-graduate courses and training programs.
Mr. Yountz has published a course regarding mold titled "Recognizing Mold and Its Hazards" which has been approved for continuing education credit by the North and South Carolina Real Estate Commissions and by the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors. All three have certified Mr. Yountz as an approved instructor for the course.
Mold Assessment Group uses the latest procedures and state-of-the-art equipment in the mold assessment process. Mold Assessment Group only uses laboratories that are certified and specialize in mold identification and reporting.

Mr. Nicholas Nelson serves as Senior Field Specialist. Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Cape Fear College in Wilmington, NC, and has completed all required course work and field training for mold inspections and testing and has been awarded the designation of Certified Mold Inspector. Mr. Nelson has led or participated in over 300 mold inspection projects. Mr. Nelson is proficient in all aspects of mold, moisture and Indoor Air Quality assessment, testing and reporting. He's also experienced with Thermal Imaging InfraRed technology.
Nicholas has been trained and received his Emergency Medical Technician certification while volunteering at Providence Fire Department for several years.
